Homes Around the Historic District

The older properties here need the prep that any pre-war house needs, and the cost of a job usually lives in that rather than in the paint:

Plaster walls. Hairline cracking is normal, and skimming over it without bridging the crack properly means it returns within a season or two.

Original trim, many times repainted. Where the film has built up and started to crack, we scrape back to a sound edge instead of laying another coat over a failing one.

Lead paint on anything pre-1978. Likely on the older stock here. It changes how sanding and containment are handled and we tell you before we start.

Wood windows. Glazing putty wants repairing before paint, not sealing under it.

Mid-Century and Newer Stock

Further out from the square the housing gets simpler and the quotes get smaller. Brick is common, which means the paintable exterior is trim, soffit, fascia and door rather than the whole envelope — usually a much more targeted job than owners expect when they call.

The newest subdivisions are builder-finish interiors: thin flat paint that marks easily on new drywall. Straightforward work where the result depends on consistent technique rather than preparation.
