Case Study: Two-Day Multi-Room Interior With Drywall Repair and Mid-Project Change Order — East Nashville
Price Range : $3,000-$5,000
Overview:
This project in East Nashville was a comprehensive two-day interior painting scope covering multiple rooms, ceiling touchups, a significant drywall repair, and a mid-project scope expansion via approved change order. The project illustrates how organized field execution and clear change order communication produce clean results even when scope evolves during the job.
Challenge:
The primary scope included several distinct areas: the main living space (open concept living room, kitchen, dining), the stairwell, the upstairs hallway, a wall section in the primary bedroom, ceiling touchups throughout, and a 12×12 drywall hole repair in the primary closet ceiling. Each required a different approach — color matching on-site for walls, flat finish for the closet ceiling, and proper multi-coat drywall repair for the patch. Color coordination across multiple rooms needed to be managed so the finished home felt cohesive rather than spotty. Mid-project, a change order came through to add the remaining walls in the master bedroom and another bedroom, requiring immediate communication and budget approval before work proceeded.

Approach:
Our team arrived on Day 1 and worked through the primary scope in logical sequence — larger surface areas first, repair work addressed early enough to allow proper dry time. Colors were matched on-site. The drywall repair in the closet ceiling was executed properly: full patch with appropriate backing, joint compound in multiple coats, sanding, priming, and flat paint finish. Ceiling touchups were addressed throughout. The mid-project change order was communicated through the job channel, approved by the office, and added to the budget before work proceeded on the additional bedroom walls. Day 2 completed the remaining surfaces, and the final walkthrough was conducted with the client before the job closed.
Outcome:
Our client's walkthrough confirmed complete satisfaction. The closet patches were no longer visible, and additional bedroom walls from the change order were incorporated seamlessly. The project closed on time within the two-day schedule.

Customer Perspective:
"Did a walkthrough and she was super happy! Job finished." The customer's reaction reflected both the quality of the finish and the experience of working with a crew that communicated clearly, made decisions through proper channels, and delivered what was promised.
